The people who make care feel human
Shamiri Fellows are the heart of our model. Young adults from the communities we serve, trained to deliver mental health care to their peers. They make care feel relatable, accessible, and real.
A Fellow's story
What does it mean to sit with someone, to listen, to guide, to support? This is what care looks like through the eyes of a Shamiri Fellow.

Showing up, session by session
Fellows lead group sessions in schools and communities—creating spaces where young people can speak openly and be supported. They follow structured, evidence-based interventions, but what they bring goes beyond that: presence, trust, and understanding.

Care that feels close, not distant
For many young people, traditional mental health care feels out of reach. Fellows change that. They are closer in age, closer in experience, and deeply connected to the communities they serve. That connection makes care more approachable—and more likely to be used.

Trained, supported, and never alone
Fellows are trained in structured interventions and supported through ongoing supervision and feedback. Behind every session is a system that helps them grow, improve, and deliver care with confidence.
